Paris!

Paris, the fashion capital... offers a broad mix of boutiques, independents and cool concept stores alongside high-stree and high-end brands. On the 7th of feb, I'm off to colourful Pari' in search of creative inspiration for my final campaign.

On the 8th I plan to visit Premiere Vision, an exhibition that highlights colour and fabric trends to the clothing sector, Hopefully this will highlight key colours trends and patters that will ultimately help with the design process of my final campaign.

On my second day in paris, I plan to walk around the city taking pictures of inspiring window displays and in-store merchandising. Hopefully I will stumble across a Parisian brand I could launch in the UK for my Final Campaign.

After researching concept stores in Paris, I have found a number I would like to visit for VM inspiration...

Colette, an ever-changing exhibition of the latest must-have clothes, books and gadgets sounds like a cool concept store that could inspire me visually.

Bonpoint: A beautifully merchandised concept store for baby clothes, the store has an in-store cafe.

Merci: a former fabric factory turned concept store where all profits go to charity.

Monki

After stumbling upon this cool, scandinavian teen girl store called Monki, owned by h&m, I feel inspired to create a similar one in the UK for a quirky British brand of my choice. I am still unsure of what direction I want to go in for my final Fashion Promotion campaign, but this certainly feels like the right track for me. Although I liked the colour me beautiful make up packaging idea, I feel I was playing it too safe....

Graphic styles by Peggy Wolf

I love the mixed media style of London based Illustrator Peggy Wolf, I would enjoy seeing a whole quirky make up camping done in this style. See more of her work here

Vending Blending

I love the whole vending machine Trend of 2011. Above, Trendhunter.com reported a coca-cola vending machine with a difference. This freestanding machine stores 140 different flavours which are designed and mixed according to the customers unique taste. If this can be achieved with a fizzy drink, I thought why can't a cosmetic vending machine blend the perfect foundation or eye-shadow to suit your skin tone? Your very own make up consultant in a vending machine!

Colour Me Beautiful

My mum recently bought me a book called 'colour me beautiful'. Colour me beautiful is a company of style consultants that find colours of clothing and makeup to match a person's complexion, eye color, and hair colour.

After mentioning this service to be tutor, we both agreed the service could do with an image re-vamp. We talked about creating a range of colour me beautiful make-up or hair dye...

Ideas Tutorial feedback

After meeting with my tutor and sharing my final campaign ideas. We both agreed that I could come up with something more creative. The bike theme was very popular amongst my class mates, I needed to come up with an original idea that would showcase my skills.

My tutor asked me to look at Scandinavian brands that I could possibly re-launch in the UK. Another idea was to research the teen market and producing a teen store for a lead retailer such as H & M.

Roller girls

London Roller girls

Another idea that stood out was the roller derby trend emerging in London. Invented in the 1920's by the Americans, Roller derby has evolved into a female sport that is becoming very popular in the UK.

Chanel to go

http://www.trendhunter.com/photos/10521

Chanel has customized a bicycle to debut with their Spring/Summer 2008 collection. To push the bike trend further, for my final campaign I could collaborate with a graphic/fashion designer to produce a designer bike exclusive to high end store such as liberty or Selfridges.

Bike Snob

The anonymous blogger know as 'bike snob' has created a witty, beautifully illustrated guide to the world of cycling. http://www.chroniclebooks.com/index/main,book-info/store,books/products_id,8698/

The illustrated images above that are featured on 'bike snobs' blog have inspired me to create a menswear lifestyle brand called 'bike snob'. I shall but this idea forward to my tutor and see if I can push this ideas any further...

TWEED RIDE

http://tweedride.wordpress.com/

The tweed run is a group of people and ride their bikes through the centre on London dressed in Tweed clothing. Any bicycle and tweed clothing can be worn, but classic vintage bicycles and tweed blazers/capes are favoured. This event has inspired me to create a tweed inspired, lifestyle range of clothing or bike accessories.

Final Campaign Ideas...

Today we had our final promotional campaign briefing, for this final module we have been asked to create a promotional campaign of our choice. I find this brief rather difficult as it is so open. So today, the research for a creative, visually exciting idea begins...

After flicking through countless magazines, newspapers and trend websites, I began to notice a common trend popping up, this trend was bicycles.

The july 14th 2010 issue of Stylist magazine featured an article on bike tribes that I found inspiring, the article gave readers handy tips on dressing, accessorising, choosing a bicycle and where to use it? Above are a few pages from the magazine.
